Day 47 - Thu, Nov 21 - Kirbyville (Texas) to De Ridder (Louisiana)

Andre

It was a reasonably uneventful day. I was cycling on tree-lined farm roads again, with a cluster of farms now and then.

The most exciting event was that I crossed over from Texas to Louisiana. Now I have California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas under my belt. I won't be in Louisiana for long before crossing into Florida.

I met up with a young man who started his ride In Boston and was on his way to San Diego. He was in a great hurry as he was planning to be home for Christmas, so it was a very short conversation.

Later in the day, I had a long chat with a local service station owner who was born and raised in Louisiana. I told him about the route I was on, and he gave me some hints and tips about the routes, and even more importantly, some safety tips for the state in general.

Abandoned Dog

The owners dropped this dog here and drove away. It really upset me.

Good Night
