Day 5 - RAA Sect 2

Andre Wakeford

Realized there was no way I would make it to MAZAMA in time with the climbs still ahead, so cut it short and got to an amazing campsite in Newhalem. Ranger (also a cyclist) told me it was free for cyclists, and there is no camping fee.

Great thing about this stretch is that most of it was on a trail, which flattened it out a bit, and had very little traffic (bikes or people) on it.

Nearly 100mi to Mazama, should consider a stop

That’s where I’m heading

Translated- Interesting ride up ahead
The sign says it all

Beautiful camp site, very cyclist friendly
The best ever. Next to the river in the forest

No need for cyclists to book in advance
My campsite in Ross Lake National Park

Thanks El. It took a while to start catching up with the blog, but think it’s about there.
